Open the cover of this little Christmas Tales storybook and you will find a baby mouse from Maileg tucked in for the night, snug under a red knit blanket with his head on a soft dotted pillow. He is dressed for snowy weather in a red pixie hat with his ears peeking through, a checked shirt, gray-green trousers and a striped scarf wound around his neck, and the book itself, with its snowman cover and bright spine, becomes his bed and his little house on the shelf. He is a sweet first mouse for a child who is just meeting the Maileg family, and a lovely addition for one who already has a few.
